Christmas 2008

Christmas 2008 was great. Jo was home for what seemed longer than usual and we had fun catching up. After we were done at Craig's I took her to Jen's house. It was raining pretty hard when I dropped her off and by the time I got home it was a snow blizzard!! Weird weather.
Ann was snowed in out in the Wilderness so she didn't make it home until the day after Christmas.
Here are a few pictures I took on Christmas day at Craig's.

Didn't take long for Carson and Jo to become re-acquainted. They had a blast! Tracy and baby Jones LOVED her present from NC. She used the foot massager right away.
Carson is such a little man now with his curls all cut off. Just love that little guy so much!!

Tyler and Kristen. Tyler got a 'rag' quilt from Ann.

More fun in the play room.

Wow, I am so bad. I hadn't realized it's been since August that I'd updated this blog.

Lots has happened (or not) since then. Mom, Dad and I went to NC for Thanksgiving and had a blast. I took tons of pictures but will just post a few of them here.

The Evans' and Meeks' in Mayberry. We had a fun day seeing the sights. It was a little chilly but that didn't stop us from our favorite: Ice Cream!!

This is probably my favorite picture. This was the first time we met Jason and he was so cute and squishy. It was definitely hard to leave. My first time meeting all of the male members of the Grogan family!
Nathan was the builder for the weekend. He kept grandpa entertained.
Soctt, Vicki and Josh in Charlotte. They have a beautiful home.
I tried really hard to get a 'nice little family picture' of Barb and the boys. This is the best one of the bunch.
Like I said, we had fun and it was tough to leave. The boys were great and it didn't take them too long to get used to 'those strange old people'.

Ann's Birthday

It was Ann's birthday on Thursday 14 Aug. The BIG five OH!!
We went to El Rancho Grande (our favorite) for dinner and Mom, Dad, Tracy, Jeremy and Carson joined us. We had fun being entertained by Carson. As you can see he's easy on the eye and as usual I took tons of pictures.

He's learning some good lessons about sitting in a spot during dinner. Tracy and Jeremy are great!! When he noticed that Jeremy was finished he said "Dada done?"

I think Tracy was glad to be there. It was fun to see them all......... We need to do this more often!
Me and Mom, self portrait. (Well Tracy helped.)

It was so funny to watch him eat lemons!!
He wasn't going to let anything get away............
Dad and Jeremy.

24 Jul 2008 Cabin

Tyler played the organ and we played name that tune. Lots of fun. Thanks Tyler for coming to the cabin while we were there. Who says you have to have a funeral to have funeral potatoes? We had a huge pan full and you can see we made short work of it. Enough left to send some home with Tyler.

Mom spent most of the weekend at the puzzle. Got it finished and they put on another.

Grandpa snoozing after lots of hard work in the hot sun.

We had a great time and Tyler made the trip twice, after work on Friday and Saturday. Made grandma's day for him to play the organ.

Cabin 4 July 2008

We went to the cabin over the 4th. Mom and dad picked us up at 6am on the 4th and we went down in their Explorer. Ann had a glider rocker she wanted to 'donate' to the cabin so we had quite a load going down. Everything fit nicely and we made the trip in just about 2 hours.

We filled the hummingbird feeders and finally had 2 birds join us.

Mom and dad put on a 1000 piece puzzle and we spent a lot of time in the loft working on it. It's kinda fun but the lighting isn't the best. We have some things we're looking at to remedy the problem.

Flowers at the cabin July 2008

There were tons of yellow flowers at the cabin this weekend. I took lots of pictures so mom could paint them if she wanted.

Even caught a butterfly on a Thistle.

The Sego Lillies were really pretty.

Bambi's mom grazing outside the cabin.

We had a doe (a deer, a female deer) camping out under the porch again. Saw her quite a few times. She would wander back in the after noon and then get scared off when we would open the front door. We filled the hummingbird feeders on the porch and had only 2 birds return. I guess we've been gone too long. We filled up the solar bird bath, that's nice to listen to the water when you're on the porch. Real soothing. These pix aren't the best since I took them through the screen from inside the cabin.
